Notes from the build — incorporation milestones, summits, partnerships, and the people NECASIS is meeting along the way.

NECASIS incorporated — same day as the Hardian Health tech summit

NECASIS was officially incorporated on 29 April 2026, coinciding with the Hardian Health tech summit in London. A fitting first day in the field.

Sessions including “Building an AI Factory” (Sanome), “Regulating the Cutting Edge” (Prof Alastair Denniston and team), “AI & Liability” (Rory Trust, Burgess Salmon) on navigating the challenging new territory AI brings into the clinic, and “NICE Pathways” (Anastasia Chalkidou, NICE) sharpened the map of where clinical AI is constrained today and where it can credibly move next. The most striking data point of the day: only one AI healthtech company in the whole of Europe currently holds a Class III risk classification — a clear signal that the clinical impact of AI in healthcare remains heavily under-realised. Closing that gap is precisely the mission NECASIS is built for.

Our only complaint: too many strong talks running in parallel for one team to attend. A productive problem to have. Sincere thanks to the Hardian Health team, the speakers and the moderators for convening one of the most substantive rooms in UK healthtech. We hope to be back next year — this time with NECASIS in the room and a story worth showcasing.
